Ingrid Serban is a Romanian-American, award-winning film director and musician. She studied classical piano and voice in Romania from a young age, then continued her musical pursuits along with acting and filmmaking in America, working with her mentor and friend, Academy Award®-nominated and Grammy®-winning director Peter Bogdanovich. Her directing career began with a film she made on an iPhone 4 (for which she won the Best Short Film Award from the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience) and a yearlong challenge to write, direct, produce and score one short film per month. A Resident of San Francisco FilmhouseX and a former Board Member of the Tallgrass Film Festival, she is also the writer/ director/cinematographer of the feature documentary, Strigoi, the Real Vampires of Transylvania, due for release in 2019. Ingrid has a special eye and talent for connecting with people to bring out each person’s uniqueness through the camera.
“Directing Free Trip to Egypt was one of the most exhilarating and worthwhile challenges I have tackled so far.”
