Because I am already involved with two organizations in Bend. One is called Community Conversations and the other LightPath. Community Conversations meets quarterly on differing subjects all related to encouraging conversations about difficult subjects. Deep listening is one of the principles. I am part of a co-creative team developing a 4 part program to educate about Relieving the Social Tension of Our Time. Deep listening is also a part of our education. I have made it a purpose to engage those who have differing views calmly with no agenda to judge or change anyone or their beliefs. I feel if I can have these one on one conversations I have contributed in some small way to lessening the tension and healing the divide. So far it has worked wonders for them and for me. I am so grateful for your film. Especially since I travel to Egypt often and have created family ties in Cairo and Luxor. I am returning with a group of 14 in October of this year.
