The Voice (Have you been listening?)

There is a voice that I have heard

It does not use the spoken word

It is a voice you cannot hear

Unless you use an inner ear


It comes from somewhere deep inside

Where Faith, and Peace, and Truth reside

It sings and soars like a Spiritual Dove

It’ easily heard with the experience of Love


I’m sure that it has called to you

Did you know what you were listening to?

It can be heard above all Earthly strife

Yes, my friend…..it’s the voice of Life


It’s helped me learn some wondrous things

Like how to fly without using wings

And never, have my struggles been in vain

I’ve learned to cry, when you are in pain


I can feel Love for those I’ll never see

Though they may choose to feel hate for me

Never stop trying for the strength to find

To need and to care for, all humankind


This voice will help you realize

Your body is only a disguise

To know you I must look past your face

Past your religion, and past your race


We must stop this useless game

Threatened by differences & assigning blame

For deep inside, you’re just like me

Our needs are Love, and Harmony


We need to work to put aside

All of the anger, hate, and pride

We do not need this kind of tool

We DO need Love, and the Golden Rule


Love is all, this Voice will say

The Golden Rule helps light the way

Touch me while looking past my eyes

You’ll feel Human Truth, beyond all lies


It seems so simple, an obvious choice

We each must listen to this Voice

And learn to use Love’s righteous tools

And live as FRIENDS…….not die as FOOLS
